REVIEW: NIKON 1 J3

Lifestyle

Posted on

Before I'm gonna overload you with my Barcelona snapshots, outfits and must-go's I would like to share my review about a really cool camera. The Nikon 1 J3! I brought this small camera with me to my trip to Paris back in May. I didn't feel like bringing my DSLR camera with me and couldn't wait to try this one out.

What is it?
The Nikon 1 J3 is a compact camera that weighs only 244 gram (with battery). It's a camera that gives you the feeling of using a DSLR camera but in a compact body. The luxurious aluminum exterior not only looks nice, but feels good and performs even more impressive. The exceptionally fast autofocus system, the built-in auto pop-up flash and direct access to one unique Nikon functions via the mode button will make you pictures and high quality movies effortlessly.

Details.
- weight: 244 gramm
- size: 101,0 x 60,5 x 28,8 mm
- interchangeable lenses
- 14.2 megapixels
- available in 5 colors (red, silver, white, black & beige)
- 3 inch monitor

My experiences.
When I had my hands on this camera for the first time it directly felt familiar. The fuctions of the camera were very clear and I could direclty start taking pictures. Because of the lens it feels like I'm using my own camera without the weight - which is a very important for me. Taking this camera with my to Paris was the perfect test to try this camera in full spin. Gosh! I worked perfect. Because of he fast system I could easily take pictures of everything around me - and of course of all the touristic spots. I already have a smaller camera (Canon J11) but I'm actually thinking about to sell that one and get this camerainstead  because I works so good. As you can read, I'm very positive about this camera!

+ To buy
- when you're looking for a smaller camera with DSLR functions
- If you like to use different lensen
- high quality pictures and video's
- interested in cool functions (like panorama view)

- Not to buy
- If you actually want to go for a DLSR camera
- the pricetag: it's around 500 euro

REVIEW: SAMSUNG GALAXY CAMERA

Lifestyle

Posted on

As you may have noticed (see here) I brought besides my beloved Nikon DSLR camera also the Samsung Galaxy Camera with me to review it and to get to know other camera's - because that's also a side of my interest.

What is it?
The Samsung Galaxy camera is a device that concentrate on the smart side of shooting and has a lot of new social media additions. For example you can upload your pictures to instagram, facebook, email them and more when you have WIFI or you also can insert your phone simcard in it. Besides that you also can play games on it and I think the only thing you can't do with it is call somebody. Oh and I must not forget to tell that you can shoot great video's with it.

Details.
- weight: 300gr
- size: 70,8 x 128,7 x 19,1 mm
- intern memory: 4GB
- WIFI/3G
- Video in HD (1080p)
- optical zoom
- standby time: Max. 280 hrs
- Android 4.1™

My experiences
Instead of taking my phone out of my warm pockets I grabbed this camera to shoot the beautiful atmosphere of Paris. Actually I almost didn't used my phone to take pictures because I found the Galaxy Camera more versatile and the quality of the pictures was much better. You can check this and this picture so how the quality look like - note: I edited with photoshop. Further I found the quality of the video also really good. For me it this camera felt like a mix between my Iphone and my regular camera.

To buy
- has touchscreen
- it has WIFI/3G and apps like instagram to upload your pictures
- you can share your pictures directly on Dropbox or with email
- quality of the video is quite good
I think when you use a lot of social media apps and just want to have a great camera this camera is made for you

Not to buy
- It's quite big for a small camera
- I think there're camera's with a better quality of photo's (not smart camera's)
- It's quite expensive - around €499
I think when you're looking for a bit more proffesional and less smart orientated camera this one isn't made for you.

Miroslava Duma is a well-known streetstyle-icon, former Harpers-Bazaar editor and  now freelancer and founder of Buro24/7. She's really petite and dares to play with fashion, just like you see above. She's wearing the Balenciaga sci-fi scuba sweaters like a mini dress combined with a classy crispy white collar. I really want to concentrate on the scuba part because it's still something you can love or hate. On which side are you? Shop the scuba/sci-fi trend below...

Anouk, founder of CofD, is a true fashionista and has a wardrobe to dream of. I was happy to see her again, earlier this year, in London for Fashion Week and I just had to capture her look. I really like the mix of her laidback sweater combined with the sparkeling skirt and killer boots. I think this look would also be perfect for Christmas because 1) you look freakin' hot 2) you can hide that tummy (of your Christmas dinner ofcourse) in that comfi sweater. Damn, she inspirered me again! Shop her look here below! :)
